Autism Siblings is a support group that strives to connect brothers and sisters of loved ones with autism through the sharing of personal stories, including the trials and triumphs of dealing with the disability.

Summer, age 20

Summer is a college sophomore majoring in education. Her little brother has autism and was the driving force behind her aspiration to teach special education. She teaches swimming lessons in the evenings at her local gym and instructs a class targeted for people with special needs. When she's not studying, she likes to take her younger brother around town to participate in activities.

Melissa, age 24

Melissa just graduated from nursing school and is in her first year of practice. She's always caring for others, even outside of work. She enjoys singing and performing. Born two years apart, Melissa has a special bond with her older sister, Rachel, who has autism. They oftentimes practice singing together, and Rachel is sure to never miss any of Melissa's recitals.

Paul, age 32

Paul is a family guy and loves spending time outdoors. He has had a special bond with his friend Steven since they went to high school together. Steven, who's autistic, could always count on Paul to make sure he was included at every high school event, be it a basketball game, theatre performance or formal dance. Paul even walked beside Steven as they graduated, and the two have continued to keep their lifelong friendship strong even after high school.
